Brief description:

The On Wheels app can be useful for wheelchair users in Belgium. The app shows its users a map with accessible shops, bars, venues, restaurants, hotels and parking spaces. When you tap on a location, you get information about the width of the door, height of the threshold and whether there is a possibility to turn. It is possible to personalize the information and as a user you can also share your own experiences to help other users. The app is free to download and use. In Holland there’s a similar app. Check out www.ongehinderd.nl.

Apps like Wheelmap and Wheelmate can be used in many countries, but risk getting outdated pretty fast. Apps kept up to date by local volunteers are more accurate but have a limited range.
